OREANDA-NEWS The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, together with the chief physicians and regional ministers, is rebuilding processes in medical organizations in order to free doctors from non-core or administrative work as much as possible, Olga Kobyakova, director of the Central Research Institute for Healthcare Organization and Informatization of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, told RIA Novosti.

Earlier, the Accounting Chamber of Russia analyzed the effectiveness of using compulsory medical insurance (CHI) funds in 2021-2023. According to the agency's report, they can be spent more economically, for example, by reducing the labor costs of medical workers for non-medical functions.

"In recent years, under the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Health, we, together with the chief doctors and regional ministers, have been actively restructuring processes in medical organizations in such a way as to free doctors from non-core work or administrative work as much as possible. These are calls to patients, invitations to consultations, medical examinations, issuing referrals for tests and much more, delegating this work to secondary medical staff and non-medical staff," Kobyakova said.

She added that digital tools, including those using artificial intelligence, such as robotic systems that remind patients, voice assistants, and a support and decision-making system, also help in this task.
"I believe that we will get a significant result in the coming months," Kobyakova stressed.
