OREANDA-NEWS The investment partnership opportunities between Russia and Mongolia are significant, primarily in the fields of energy and exploration, as well as in infrastructure development, Alexander Kozlov, head of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, told RIA Novosti in an interview on the eve of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).

"We have significant investment partnership opportunities. First of all, in the fields of energy, geological exploration and infrastructure development," Kozlov said.

He noted that Russia and Mongolia see potential in conducting joint geological studies in the border area, which are aimed at assessing the subsoil of this territory. Joint field development projects may result from this work.

"We have a major project related to the modernization of CHPP-3 in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, and reconstruction will be carried out using Russian equipment," Kozlov added.
The Eastern Economic Forum will be held from September 1-4 in Vladivostok. RIA Novosti is the general information partner of the WEF.
