OREANDA-NEWS  The grand opening of the Indra-2025 Russian-Indian military exercise took place in India, and military personnel from the two countries will practice counter-terrorism operations, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"The opening ceremony of the Indra-2025 joint Russian-Indian military exercise took place at the Mahajan training ground in the Indian state of Rajasthan. The event was attended by the head of the exercise from the Russian side, Major General Andrei Kozlov, commander of the Gandiv division, Major General Sanjaya Chandra Kandpala, as well as military personnel from the two countries," the statement said.

According to the ministry, the exercise will last until October 15, and its main purpose will be to practice the interaction of units of the two countries in the fight against international terrorism, including improving counterterrorism tactics.
