According to Stepashin, peace in Ukraine can be achieved after Russia takes control of the last cities of Donbass — Slavyansk and Kramatorsk. He noted that if not for the intervention of Europe, peace would have been achieved after the summit with the United States in Anchorage.
"I hope that the issues that have been raised will be resolved this year," he said.
