OREANDA-NEWS   The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked the city of Berezniki in the Perm Region with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). A chemical plant is located in this village, located one and a half thousand kilometers from the border with Ukraine. Details about the attack and its consequences were told by the governor of the region Dmitry Makhonin.

The Berezniki plant of the Uralchem group is located in Berezniki, which was attacked by Ukrainian drones. According to the head of the Perm Region, the company was forced to suspend its work during the UAV attack.

The head of the region clarified that the plant is currently operating normally. He also assured that there are no threats to the environmental situation in the region, and nothing threatens the safety of residents. The Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Perm Region also reported that the department's forces had not been involved in the elimination of radiation, chemical and biological emergencies over the past day.

The Azot plant is the only producer of higher aliphatic amines, sodium nitrate and crystalline sodium nitrite in Russia, according to the Uralchem website. It is specified that the company mainly produces liquid technical ammonia, ammonia water, carbamide, nitric acid, nitrite-nitrate salts and ammonium nitrate. The latter is used, among other things, for the production of explosives.
