OREANDA-NEWS Microsoft has planned to forcibly transfer users to a newer version of Windows OS. This is reported by the Neowin publication.

The portal's journalists drew attention to the notice on the corporation's website. According to published data, Microsoft has planned to update the OS on users' computers automatically. If you use Windows 11 version 21H2, the system will upgrade to version 22H2 without the participation of the PC owner.

The release of version 21H2 took place on October 4, 2021, the system remains relevant for about nine months. Version 22H2 was released in September 2022. The company noted that the transfer to a more up-to-date version of the OS will allow users to receive updates and security patches for a longer period. The implementation will begin in stages, starting with devices that have used version 21H2 the longest.

Despite the fact that the update will be automatic, users will have some freedom of action. So, to complete the transition to version 22H2, you will need to restart your computer. Also, business license holders will not receive automatic updates - they will have to install the update manually.

Earlier, the journalists of the XDA publication said that Microsoft will support users with updates of the current OS for at least 10 years. In total, the owner of a Windows 11-based PC will provide support for at least 15 years.
