OREANDA-NEWS  US President Donald Trump has said he should rename the Strait of Hormuz after himself.

"We'll call it the Trump Strait, and I'm sure the Iranian leadership will be thrilled," Trump said at the Republican Party convention in Texas.

He once again stated that the United States is winning the conflict with Iran.

"Now we will win. We're winning. We control the Strait of Hormuz," the US president said.

Earlier in September, the American leader had already wondered whether the name of the Strait of Hormuz should be changed to the Trump Strait.
