OREANDA-NEWS. Roskomnadzor demanded that Google unblock Russia Today's YouTube channels in German, threatening that otherwise the video hosting service would face blocking. In a message from Roskomnadzor, which on Wednesday, September 29, was quoted by the Interfax news agency, it is said that the agency sent Google a letter «demanding that as soon as possible remove all restrictions from the YouTube channels «RT DE» and «Der Fehlende Part» belonging to the Russian media Russia Today».

In a letter from Roskomnadzor, Google's actions are called «an act of censorship against the Russian media». «If the owner of the resource fails to comply with the Roskomnadzor warning, the legislation provides for measures of full or partial restriction of access», the regulator said.

Roskomnadzor also recalled that the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation provides for «liability in the form of a fine of up to 1 million rubles» for ignoring warnings by the owners of Internet resources about «violation of the rights of Russians on the web», including censorship of Russian media, and «in case of repeated refusal to comply with the requirements, the amount of the fine can reach 3 million rubles».
