OREANDA-NEWS. The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, called on Russian law enforcement agencies to assess the spread of fake information about the alleged possibility of Moscow using nuclear weapons, in particular, in Ukraine.

Thus, the diplomat commented on a fragment of an interview with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on nuclear weapons, the meaning of which was incorrectly conveyed in some Telegram channels.

“This, by the way, is a question for law enforcement agencies. We have all the laws <...> which enable law enforcement officers to deal with this story already from the point of view of violation of the law, Russian legislation, ”Zakharova said on the Sputnik radio station.

She stressed that this is a fake, which is related not only to the security of Russia. The diplomat urged, first of all, to take measures not in relation to the Telegram channels themselves, which misinterpreted Lavrov's words, but to its developers and customers.

The day before, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with the Indian television channel India Today that Moscow is not considering the possibility of using nuclear weapons in Ukraine.

“Russia is not considering the possibility of using nuclear weapons in Ukraine, we are talking only about conventional weapons,” he stressed.
