Projections of icons will appear on a Russian church for Easter for the first time

OREANDA-NEWS Projections of images of icons in honor of Easter will appear on the Cathedral of St. Vladimir Equal-to-the-Apostles in Stavropol. This is reported by TASS.
Archpriest Vladimir Ostrozhinsky, the clerk of the Orthodox church, said that they are preparing an animated video series that will be broadcast on the walls of the building. It is expected that it will consist of the main events related to the feast of the Resurrection of Christ, Easter, such as the Resurrection of the righteous Lazarus, the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem and the Last Supper. According to him, it will be possible to see such a thing at the cathedral for the first time.
"We decided to create a projection of images of icons for the Easter holiday. We conducted a test, specialists from Krasnodar came and looked at how it would look," Ostrozhinsky shared the details of the preparation. The projections will be accompanied by Easter carols. The symbolism of Easter can also be seen on the projections.
It is known that the video sequence will be broadcast from nightfall to dawn, starting from Easter night on April 20 and until April 24. The projections will cover the entire height of the temple — 38 meters. "We are sure that the children, parishioners, residents of the Perspektivny district and the city of Stavropol will enjoy a beautiful Easter gift," said Archpriest Ostrozhinsky.
The Cathedral of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir was opened in Stavropol in 2018. It is one of the largest in the region and can accommodate more than 1.5 thousand believers.
Earlier it was reported that the exhibition "Chyryston Ir. Orthodox Ossetia", where believers can venerate the shrine — the ark with a particle of the relics of the Holy Great Martyr George the Victorious. You can visit the fair until April 6th inclusive.
