OREANDA-NEWSThe Government of the Republic of Korea will organize a major concert in Russia in 2020 with the participation of K-pop (key pop, Korean pop music) groups on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

This was announced on Friday by South Korean Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Hon Nam Ki. According to him, in addition to the concert, the government will hold a trade fair in Russia, as well as a number of other events. The current and 2021 years are declared "years of mutual cultural exchanges between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Korea". As South Korean Culture Minister Park Yang Woo said earlier, Russia is a key country in Seoul’s “new northern policy” aimed at expanding economic cooperation.

He expressed the hope that holding years of exchanges would allow Koreans and Russians to get to know each other's cultural heritage and strengthen friendly relations. Both sides are preparing an extensive program of ceremonial, cultural and festive events.
