OREANDA-NEWS  In Yakutia, the authorities officially banned schoolchildren from celebrating Halloween. This follows from a letter from the regional Ministry of Education sent to local institutions. A copy of the document was at the disposal of the SakhaDay portal.

The letter signed by the first Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Sakha Alevtina Argunova "On the prohibition of Halloween celebrations in educational organizations" states the need to take measures to prevent this event in schools in the region. "Educational events and events aimed at preserving and strengthening spiritual and moral values, developing ideas of patriotism in the country, preserving the historical heritage of the peoples living in the country should be held in schools," the text emphasizes.

The authenticity of the letter was confirmed by the head of the press service of the Ministry of Education of Yakutia Vera Neimokhova. In the comments for KP.EN she stressed that the document is a recommendation, not a direct order. According to Neimokhova, the ministry has no right to order, but advises all educational institutions, including kindergartens, "to refrain from holding a holiday alien to us."

Earlier it was reported that in some regions of Russia, on October 31, they decided to celebrate Pumpkin Spas. Commenting on this idea, the cleric of the Ivanovo-Voznesenskaya diocese, Hieromonk Makariy (Markish), called the people who came up with such a holiday idiots. The priest explained that "Jesus Christ was the only one who saved." "There are enough holidays in his honor throughout the year," he said.
