OREANDA-NEWS Apple intends to launch a secure version of the artificial intelligence (AI) service for China by the end of 2025. This is reported by Bloomberg.
The agency's columnist Mark Gurman found out that the American company expects the launch of Apple Intelligence in China in the next few months. Apple's AI service was launched in October 2024, but it was not possible to launch it in China due to the need to coordinate the work of all services with local authorities.
According to Gurman, a special version of protected Apple Intelligence will appear for the Chinese market. The service will work with censorship, meaning requests from the external Internet will be severely limited. Mark Gurman believes that Apple's neural network for China will appear in iOS 26.1 or iOS 26.2.
A Bloomberg journalist also said that it took considerable effort for Tim Cook's company to get approval to launch Apple Intelligence. The company had to maneuver between the demands of the Chinese authorities and the interests of the US government. Representatives of the latter expressed concern about Apple's contacts with Beijing.
Gurman stressed that the launch of Apple Intelligence in China is extremely important. If the corporation does not have time to launch it in September-October, the new iPhone 17 may fail to sell.
In early September, insider Min-Chi Ko said that Apple believed in the success of the foldable iPhone and plans to sell 10 million devices. The launch of the folding device is scheduled for autumn 2026.
