OREANDA-NEWS  The sensation from American scientists :  surgeons transplanted a completely artificial heart into a person for the first time. The patient was a 39-year-old man with cardiac distress.

According to doctors, the prosthesis is as similar as possible to a real heart and fully fulfills its functions. However, there is one significant drawback. Only a part of the artificial organ has been introduced into the body. And a man will have to constantly carry with him a four-kilogram bag with a battery that ensures the autonomous operation of equipment.

The patient received an artificial heart for a while until a suitable donor was found. There are five years for this. This is the maximum service life of the prosthesis.
