Japan will Create a New Generation of Submarines

OREANDA-NEWS Japan began the process of research and development work on the creation of a new generation of non-nuclear submarines.
New submarines will have to replace the non-nuclear submarines of the old class, coming into service since 2009. A new type of submarine project will receive the designation 29SS.
The stage of work should be completed by 2028 and the first submarine of the new generation is planned to be launched in 2031. It is already known that the boat of the project 29SS will receive a reduced cabin and due to this its noise and hydrodynamic resistance will decrease.
Equipping the submarine with a jet-propeller instead of the usual propeller is designed for this effect.
