OREANDA-NEWS  Acting head of the American space agency NASA, Sean Duffy, expects to find common ground with the Russian Federation on space at upcoming talks with Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Bakanov, Reuters reports, citing Duffy's own words.

"We will continue to create alliances, partnerships and friendships as humanity continues to explore space," Duffy told reporters in Congress, the agency quoted him as saying, while noting that he spoke about "his intention to find common ground with Russia on space issues during a meeting to be held later at the this week."

Earlier, the press service of Roscosmos said that Bakanov arrived in the United States, where he will hold talks with Duffy on July 31, and will also meet with the crew of the Crew Dragon ship, which includes Russian Oleg Platonov.

In addition, the Russian delegation plans to visit the Boeing production division, where the reusable manned CST-100 Starliner transport vehicle is being developed, and hold talks with the leadership of the company's space program.

Bakanov will take part in events at the John F. Kennedy Space Center related to the verification of readiness for the launch of the next mission to the International Space Station, Roscosmos said.
