OREANDA-NEWS At the end of October, astronomers from all over the world began to stare at the sky. Comet Lemmon is flying over the Earth — and the next time humanity will see it is only in 1350 years.
The comet's scientific name is C/2025 A6 (Lemmon). She was "spotted" and given a name only in January 2025. It is known that its core is surrounded by an extremely dense gas shell.
Vladimir Zamyatin photographed the comet over Yekaterinburg.
"The space wanderer of these days! The attention of observers around the world is focused on the sky today. Comet Lemmon is also visible from Yekaterinburg, but only as a dim speck with a short tail — the urban illumination interferes," the photographer shared.
