OREANDA-NEWS  The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment expects the discovery of new deposits of rubies, sapphires, emeralds and amber in the coming years in Russia, companies will invest 34.5 million rubles in their exploration in 2026, the ministry's press service told RIA Novosti.

"Corundum (ruby and sapphire are jewelry varieties of the corundum mineral that differ in color) is being worked on in the Republic of Buryatia and Komi, emerald raw materials in the Sverdlovsk region, and amber in the Kaliningrad region. Based on the results of these works, we expect an increase in reserves and the discovery of new deposits in the coming years," the ministry said.
