OREANDA-NEWS  Experts of the Russian Security Council considered at the meeting threats to Russia's national interests in the use of artificial intelligence technologies, the press service of the Security Council staff reported on Friday.

"The issues of using artificial intelligence technologies in the interests of ensuring information security, as well as scientific and methodological approaches to identifying photo and video images created using deepfake technologies were considered," the report says.

The Russian Security Council said that during the meeting, the main threats to national interests in the development and use of AI technologies were discussed, and approaches to neutralizing these threats based on the use of trusted technologies were developed.

Experts noted the complex nature of threats to individuals, society and the state associated with the distribution of photo and video content on the Internet created using deepfake technology, the press service said.

"It was noted that in order to counter these threats, it is necessary to form the necessary regulatory and technical framework, including the creation of specialized centers in certain areas of research in scientific, technical, technological, regulatory and legal fields, as well as in the field of education," the Security Council added.
