OREANDA-NEWS  Rostec supplied 65% of the annual plan of highly demanded weapons to the troops in the first half of the year, the West is shocked at such a pace, Sergei Chemezov, head of the state corporation, told RIA Novosti.

"We are ahead of the curve in terms of particularly demanded samples of weapons and military equipment – in the first six months we delivered 65% of the annual plan to the troops. The West is shocked by our pace," Chemezov said.

Answering a question about whether the defense industry has reached its limit in the production of weapons and military equipment, Chemezov said: "The ceiling for our defense industry is still very high, don't worry."

The head of Rostec assured that as many weapons as necessary will be made.

"Let me remind you that since the beginning of the CW, the production of certain types of products has increased tenfold. And it continues to increase several times annually," he concluded.

In June, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chemezov said that Rostec had increased production of ammunition, lightly armored vehicles and MLRS shells tenfold compared to 2021.

According to him, in 2024 alone, the production of new lightly armored vehicles and tanks increased 1.1 times, ammunition for barrel artillery — 1.3 times, for lightly armored vehicles and tanks — 2.1 times, MLRS shells - 1.7 times.
