OREANDA-NEWS. On March 28, 2007 the Russian-Indian Coordinating Committee for the construction of Kudankulam NPP conducted its 18th meeting in Moscow, reported the press-centre of Atomstoyexport. The Indian delegation was led by the chairman and managing director of the Nuclear Power Corporation of India S.K.Jain. The Russian delegation was led by the deputy head of Rosatom I.M.Kamenskikh and comprised the president of Atomstroyexport S.I.Shmatko and representatives of partner-companies: Atomenergoproject (Moscow), Atomtechenergo, ATEK.

The committee considered the course of the project and the amount of work done in the last six months. The sides noted that significant progress has been made in the paper work, equipment deliveries and construction and installation activities since the last Jan 2007 visit of the head of Rosatom Sergey Kiriyenko and the chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission of India Anil Kokodkar. The sides also discussed the current situation on the site and the possibilities of optimizing the joint activities under the project. The negotiations were held in an atmosphere of friendship and cooperation. Such meetings are conducted once in a quarter so the sides can solve the problems arising in the course of the project.
