The Major Repair of TC-400000/330 Transformer Has Been Completed at Chirkey HPS
OREANDA-NEWS. April 17, 2007. At Chirkey HPS (branch of JSC “Regional Power Generation Company of Dagestan”) a major repair of TC-400000/330 transformer has been completed, reported the press-centre of JSC “Regional Power Generation Company of Dagestan”.
In January 2007 the transformer was relocated to the repair platform: the repair was started on February 12 and continued till April 8, 2007. In the process of the repair work experts accomplished the following:
inspection of the active part of the transformer;
repair of the tank and the stretcher;
tests and inspections of the control-measuring equipment;
reconstruction of inter-winding insulation;
drying and washing of the insulation;
transformer oiling.
Experts from specialized subcontract organizations were invited to perform the repair: “Energostroi Ltd.” and JSC “Research Center “ZTZ-Service”. Electric tests were executed by the personnel of Chirkey HPS.
TC-400000/330 transformer was put into service in December 1976; its first major repair was done in 1988. In 2000 the experts accomplished complex inspection of the transformer. The fact that this major repair was conducted on the territory of Chirkey HPS saved a lot of money, since transportation of the transformer to the manufacturer is an expensive adventure. This major repair of the transformer cost more than 3mln. rubles.
