OREANDA-NEWS. Another consignment of textile goods manufactured at the Ashgabat textile enterprise has been exported to the United States. The goods labelled “Made in Turkmenistan” are exported to the countries in Europe and Asia as well, reported the Official website http://www.turkmenistan.gov.tm.The gigantic production complex put into operation in February 2000 providing an example of the effective use of sound foreign investments nowadays has changed into the dynamically developing textile industry and allowing expanding its infrastructure as well as applying the most advanced technologies in industry.

The modern multi-line closed cycle production facility manufacturing ginned cotton and readymade garments is equipped with up-to-date machines and mechanisms supplied by the world’s leading producers from Japan, Germany, Switzerland and impresses with the technical capacities of the processing facilities. The complex has the six interconnected divisions employing over 3,200 workers. Its capacity is over 9,000 tonnes of yarn, 45 million square metres of grey cloth and 2,400 tonnes of knitted fabric per year. Rotary printing presses and laser engraving machines are installed in the dyeing and printing shops that are to dye and print up to 20 million square metres a year. Each year the enterprise manufactures up to 100 items of readymade garments: shorts, T-shirts, pyjamas, curtains and bed-clothes.

The enterprise produces the goods by orders of foreign companies and firms that promotes manufacturing the highly competitive output goods of great demand for high-quality, original design and moderate prices. Due to the considerable volume of export-oriented production the goods are tested for compliance with the international quality standards in the laboratories of each production division. In particular, the enterprise has ISO 9001 quality management systems, ISO 1400 environmental management standards, ОНSAS 18001Occupational health and safety management systems, the WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Apparel Production) certificate. The administrative personnel regularly attend different trainings and seminars. The modern equipment installed at the enterprise is produced on a security of computer-aided and automated industrial process with the use of environmentally friendly technologies.

The textile enterprises throughout the country, which are engaged in implementing the large-scale textile industry development projects and strengthening the material and technical base of the textile enterprises, excluded the expenses on import of raw materials. The goods are manufactured from domestically produced ginned cotton. Dependable and regular deliveries are ensured by a number of innovations – the establishment of the specialised enterprises that directly collaborate with tenant farmers growing cotton under the aegis of textile workers who received the legal right to grow cotton independently to meet the textile industry’s needs. Those deliveries along with innovations designed by the Turkmen modellers, who immediately respond to fashion needs, guarantee the high quality and demand for Turkmen textile goods in the world markets.

“To create favourable working and living conditions for people is a key component of the enterprise’s development programme aimed at receiving high profit through reducing costs of manufacture and minimising process losses,” the Director General of the Ashgabat textile enterprise T. Kurbanmammedov says. “A super modern enterprise is not only up-to-date equipment properly operated and skilfully maintained and well-qualified personnel effectively managed and trained but also social programmes financed by the enterprise. The local workers are provided with three meals a day and medical aid. The health-improving centre on the seaside and a kindergarten are at their disposal. “The results of this concern are obvious: people work with enthusiasm and are highly motivated in the outcomes of their activity. Our most important accomplishment is the stable annual rate of commercial output growth by 20 per cent, the share of export makes up 95 per cent.”
