OREANDA-NEWS. Since the year start, Ust-Ilimsk Pulp Mill, a subsidiary of forestry corporation Ilim Pulp, has spent over RUB 4 mln to implement charity projects in Ust-Ilimsk and the Ust-Ilimsk region. The projects were approved late in 2006 by the board of guardians of Ilim Pulp - Garant charitable foundation, Ust-Ilimsk office. All the charity projects were formed with due consideration of proposals and requests submitted by the directors and specialists of various social, educational and cultural organizations. Apart from that, Ust-Ilimsk Pulp Mill took part in sponsoring a number of special-purpose programmes carried out in Ust-Ilimsk.

The means were used to renovate the premises of the Central regional hospital in the village of Zheleznodorozhnyj, and to install automatic fire alarms in the village schools of Yershovo, Sedanovo and Badarminsk.

Six Ust-Ilimsk kindergartens received financial assistance of approximately RUB 90 thousand as part of the project to help pre-school facilities. RUB 67 thousands were spent to purchase special-function bed lifts as part of the Ust-Ilimsk citizens social care programme. Veterans of the Great Patriotic War and nonworking pensioners received a financial assistance of RUB 1 mln 300 thousand from Ust-Ilimsk Pulp Mill.

Targeted social assistance was also given to orphans: former patients of the social rehabilitation centre received household appliances, the social group of Iskorka kindergarten that includes orphans under 3, received the necessary furniture.

All charity programmes, approved by Ust-Ilimsk office of the charitable foundation, are carried out according to the financial plan and timeline, says Vladimir Batischev, General Director of Ust-Ilimsk Pulp Mill. In June 2007, charity payments to Ust-Ilimsk and regional companies will amount to RUB 3,1 million.
