OREANDA-NEWS. The ceremony to award the winners of Iron Lumberjack industry award took place in the beginig of June, within the framework of 11th International specialized exhibition of technologies and equipment, Interles. IlimSibLesTekhno, a special-purpose logging company within Ilim Pulp’s Ust-Ilimsk group has been nominated Iron Lumberjack in New technologies and advanced technical solutions category for two consecutive years.

IlimSibLesTekhno was given grand-prix for efficient implementation of assortment logging technology and high performance of its multi-functional harvesters in East Siberia. By deploying efficient practices and progressive administrative and technological decisions such as computerized accounting of logged wood and satellite communications on the plants IlimSibLesTekhno achieved excellent logging results. In 2006, its five logging complexes (harvesters and forwarders) were used to log 356 thousand cu metres of wood, averaging each machine’s harvest at 71,2 cu metres per year. The best team of the plant logged 89,8 thousand cu metres of wood. Accordingly, each operator’s logging bulk went up 19% year-over-year amounting to 5 thousand cu metres per year, which fully meets the plans set by Oleg Konyakhin, the plant’s General Director, during the last year’s award ceremony.

Iron Lumberjack is a yearly award given to companies as recognition of their achievements in the forestry complex. The winners are chosen by an expert jury representing education, science, forestry engineering companies, leading forestry companies and non-governmental organizations.
