OREANDA-NEWS. On July 27, 2007 Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions, has expanded its operations into the Nordic region with a new office in Stockholm, Sweden, reported the press-centre of Kaspersky Lab.

The company’s new office is in Stockholm’s Kista district, Sweden’s Silicon Valley, which is home not only to numerous IT companies but also the IT University. The Swedish office currently provides sales, presale and distribution; it is managed by the Kaspersky Lab DACH office in Ingolstadt, Germany.

“Opening an office in Northern Europe is the logical next step in the company’s development,” says Andreas Lamm, head of the Kaspersky Lab DACH. “Until recently, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland remained the only European countries in which our products were not sufficiently represented – a situation that is set to change rapidly with the opening of the new office.” According to Lamm, the main objectives are to develop retail sales and establish a distribution channel for the company’s business products.

Currently, the English language versions of Kaspersky Lab products are available in the region, but Swedish and Danish versions of Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 will be available in September. The release of Norwegian and Finnish versions is scheduled for 2008.

The new Kaspersky Lab office has hired Jonas Halen, who will be responsible for its sales channel and brings to the company ten years’ IT experience. “I am looking forward to the challenge,” says Halen. “Kaspersky Lab has a very good reputation in Sweden and we expect to launch very successful partner programs in the region.”

Ingram Micro, a technology distributor, will become the first Kaspersky Lab partner in the Nordic region. Kaspersky Lab products can also be purchased from the online store at www.kaspersky.se
