OREANDA-NEWS. On November 23, 2007 Pulikovsky was accompanied by his deputy Sergey Adamchik, head of Volga Inter-regional Territorial District for Nuclear and Radiation Safety Control Vladimir Yanklovich, technical director of Rosenergoatom Concern Nikolay Sorokin and other officials, reported the press-centre of Kalinin NPP.

The key objective of the visit was to check up the work of Rostekhnadzor’s nuclear and radiation safety inspectors at Kalinin NPP.

Together with the managers of Kalinin NPP, the guests inspected the plant and the control board of unit 3.

Later, the chief engineer of Kalinin NPP Mikhail Kanyshev reported to the guests about the nuclear and radiation safety situation at Kalinin NPP. He said that no radiation incidents are registered at the plant. In the last decade the collective personnel irradiation dose has been reduced by 3 times, the emission of aerosol is within norm and there are no signs of radioactive contamination in the area.

While summing up the results of the visit Pulikovsky said that Rostekhnadzor’s inspectors and the local experts work well and pointed out the high level of nuclear and radiation safety at Kalinin NPP.
