OREANDA-NEWS. January 18, 2007. “North-West Timber Company” acquired the printing machine and all the necessary additional equipment from the German company "Koenig&Bauer AG". The planned capacity of the printing plant is 15 thousand printed sheets of 740 x 1050 mm format per hour, reported the press-centre of “North-West Timber Company”.

The production capacity of the new equipment will make it possible not only meet the demand of NWTC for exercise-book’s covers but perform the orders of the external purchasers.

“We will produce a wide range of high-quality full-color products namely magazines, posters, label paper, wrapping paper and others. The basis weight range is from 40 to 800 g/m2. First of all we are oriented to the customers from the Kaliningrad region and the nearby countries – Poland, Lithuania, and Byelorussian Republic. Our advantage is that we have own production of a wide range of offset and wrapping papers, and that fact will have effect on the price of the end product”, the Director of the printing plant of NPPM Mikhail Shumay said.

The works on rearrangement of the former sulphite liquor department to the printing plant are almost completed (the sulphite liquor department was closed after the introduction of TCF-bleaching of cellulose). The groundwork for printing machine is ready, there were completed a power cabling and lightning, and the systems of fire alarm, and fire-extinguishing system and ventilation system as well. The finishing works in the welfare spaces and in the offices are being completed. The start-up of the printing plant is scheduled on the end of February.

The cost of the project for the printing plant creation is about 5 millions EUR. The beginning of the project implementation was in August, 2007.
