OREANDA-NEWS. On February 05, 2007 Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev had a meeting with a delegation of the Russian Chamber of Trade and Industry (CCI) headed by the institution's deputy chairman, Igor Gorelovskiy, reported the Official website http://gov.md.

Gorelovskiy highly appreciated the achievements of Moldovan producers displayed at the national exhibition, Made in Moldova, which was opened yesterday. In the context, he highlighted the Russian entrepreneurs' interest in consolidating their presence on the Moldovan market.

The steps undertaken by the Moldovan authorities to liberalise the country's economy and to open the EU market have significantly contributed to rendering Moldovan more attractive for investors, Gorelovskiy said. He expressed certitude that the Made in Moldova exhibition will be a good opportunity to identify new ways of economic cooperation by signing advantageous cooperation contracts.

Tarlev said Moldova is interested in implementing joint projects in several sectors, including industry, agri-food, IT, etc.

The premier also pointed out that the implementation of the updated Moldovan-Russian cooperation agreements, due to be signed within the 6 February Moldovan-Russian business forum, will allow exchanging information in due time on investment projects under implementation and on opportunities in this respect.

Data provided by the National Statistics Bureau show that Russia is Moldova's top trade partner in terms of exports. In January-November 2007, Moldova marketed over 211-million-dollar-worth goods in Russia, which makes 25.5 per cent more against the same period of 2006.
