OREANDA-NEWS. February 11, 2008.  President Robert Kocharian received the troika of the European Union headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, which is currently presiding in the EU, Dimitri Rupel.

The sides exchanged views on the Armenia-EU unfolding cooperation and spoke about the European Neighborhood policy.

Speaking with satisfaction about the dynamically developing cooperation with the European Union, Robert Kocharian said that thanks to the plan of joint actions the relations between our country and EU have become much more coordinated.

He welcomed the opening of a new diplomatic representation of the European Commission in Armenia, which will present an opportunity to work more closely.

Speaking about the upcoming presidential elections, President of Armenia said that it is a very important time for the country. “We are greatly interested in conducting really good elections, in accordance with international standards. We are doing our best to organize them on the highest possible level,” stressed the President.

Robert Kocharian presented also the latest developments in the NK peace process, Armenia’s approaches toward energy security and spoke about some issues pertaining to regional cooperation.
