OREANDA-NEWS. On 11 February 2008 was announced, that RBC SOFT, a subsidiary Armada, won two Federal Air Transport Agency tenders. The Federal Air Transport Agency (FATA) is the government's executive branch agency in charge of state supervision of civil aviation. RBC SOFT will provide consultancy services worth RUR 12.9m (approx. US$ 526,101) to the federal agency. The work is scheduled to be completed within the first six months of 2008.

Air transportation is one of the fastest developing segments within the transportation industry. According to the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), some 40m people used air transportation services in 2006, with this segment accounting for 22% of overall passenger traffic. This figure has doubled since 2000. The sharp increase in demand for air transportation services has called for adjustments in the industry's long-term forecasts and raising the efficiency of state supervision of aviation.

To solve these tasks, RBC SOFT is launching two projects on behalf of the FATA. The first task is to develop a concept for a unified state civil aviation IT system. According to RBC SOFT Deputy General Director Igor Gorbatov, "the idea of the integrated use of ERP, MES, CRM, EAM , and other systems will form the basis of the concept. This approach will allow us to receive more accurate data for solving various issues: from flight security to problems of developing the domestic aircraft industry."

RBC SOFT's second project is aimed to address the task of providing all the involved organizations with accurate, timely, and comprehensive data regarding the current condition of civil aviation. The company expects to analyze the International Civil Aviation Organization's (ICAO) experience in creating statistics programs and produce a package of proposals for enhancing the federal agency's internal reporting system.
