OREANDA-NEWS. March 12, 2008. The Australian delegation led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Australia to Turkmenistan Mr. Robert Tyson held the meetings and talks at the ministries and departments of Turkmenistan. The guests from the ‘green continent’ visited Turkmenistan to study Turkmenistan’s economic potential and establish the closer contacts with Turkmen partners.

The textile and oil and gas enterprises of Turkmenistan made the presentations at the President Hotel. The discussions focused on the prospects and various aspects of international partnership. The information of the legal base, the national laws and the statutory and legal acts regulating trade and economic relations, commercial activity was provided. Representing one and a half dozen of the companies the Australian businessmen demonstrated keen interest in the presentations of the Turkmen specialists. Their numerous questions evidenced their intense interest in establishing co-operation in the leading sectors of Turkmen economy.

During the three-day visit the Australian delegation will hold the talks at the ministries and departments of Turkmenistan.

The guests had visited Gypajk, where they had laid flowers to the mausoleum of the first President of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Niyazov, the National Museum and the Arc of Neutrality. The Australian businessmen will visit the landmarks of Ashkhabad and its suburbs.
