OREANDA-NEWS  On 10 November was announced, that trade between Belarus and Bulgaria may reach U.S. USD 100 million this year, Deputy Foreign Minister Valery Voronetsky told following the third session of the intergovernmental Belarusian-Bulgarian commission for trade, economic and technical cooperation.

“These are new targets that will require additional effort, but the task is doable through creation of Belarusian companies in Bulgaria and joint ventures,” Voronetsky said.

Voronetsky and Deputy Minister of Economy and Energy of Bulgaria Yavor Kuiumdjiev noted that the two countries focused on production of road and farm machines and joint projects in the food industry.

Voronetsky said Bulgaria would be enabled to promote its products to the Russian and Central Asia markets via Belarus.

Trade between Belarus and Bulgaria amounted to USD 50.661 million in January-July 2008, up 52.4% on the year. Exports to Bulgaria rose 74% to USD 28.45 million, and imports increased 31.5% to USD 22.21 million.
