OREANDA-NEWS. On 24 December 2008 was announced, that PAVA (www.apkhleb.ru), the largest grain processor of Siberia and the Far East, breaks its own records. In November, for the 1st time in the company’s history, PAVA’s overseas sales made up 29.2% of the total volume of flour exported from Russia. The company’s export shipments over the month stood at 13,330 tonnes.

“Our goal is to increase the company’s presence on foreign markets. The efforts are concentrated in several areas: first, increasing the client base; second - we almost do not have single deliveries which means that most of our partnerships become long-standing after the first order has been fulfilled”, commented Angela Kiseleva, PAVA Commercial Director.

SovEcon data show, over 5 months in 2008 (July-November), Russia exported 200,000 tonnes of flour. During this period, PAVA shipped overseas approximately 40,000 tonnes of its products which represented 20% of the total national flour exports. According to Angela Kiseleva, there are prospects for greater achievements.

“The sales volumes grew not only due to the enlarged client base, but also as a result of extended product assortment shipped overseas. We expect significant increase in export sales with the new protein-enriched flour, which is already gaining popularity with customers of Asian countries. We have large production capacities which allow us to manufacture sufficient volumes of high-quality flour for supplying the domestic and international markets. The undisputed advantage of PAVA’s flour mills is proximity to the export borders”, concluded Ms Kiseleva.

To recap, according to Russian Ministry of Economic Development PAVA became the Leading Exporter of the Industry in 2007. 2008 results give reason to claim that the company has retained its strong positions. After 11 months, the Altay grain processor increased its export shipments by 74% from the same period last year.
