OREANDA-NEWS. March 25, 2009. Pursuant to a recent contract, GRASYS shall supply a large-scale nitrogen plant for OJSC Kosogorsk Metallurgical Plant (OJSC KMZ), Tula. OJSC KMZ is one of the Russia's leading producers of high-grade pig iron, ferrum manganese, industrial and art castings. The plant to be supplied will be used for generation of inert environment in the gas-dynamic isolation bells during blast furnaces operation as well as in the gas treatment systems.

Due to the superior performance characteristics, high equipment quality and other objective advantages, GRASYS was chosen by OJSC KMZ from other manufacturers of gas separation equipment active in Russia. No small part in GRASYS being selected as the supplier played its profound market experience and successful performance of technically complex projects for major industrial companies.

The membrane nitrogen plant is designated for production of 95% gaseous nitrogen from atmospheric air at 2,000 nmі/hr. The nitrogen plant was manufactured with the adoption of the state-of-the-art membrane air separation technology.

The nitrogen plant operates in a fully automatic mode with automated support and control of working parameters; no manned attendance is required during operation. The plant technical characteristics were optimally selected to best suit the customer technological processes.

Membrane plants for nitrogen production are finding an increasingly wider use at metallurgical, chemical and petrochemical plants, in food industry, oil and gas complex and many other sectors.

Today, GRASYS is one of the largest and most reputable companies in the field of gas separation. GRASYS is also one of the world leading manufacturers of membrane and adsorption plants for nitrogen and oxygen production, hydrogen concentration, gas mix control etc.
