OREANDA-NEWS. On March 24, 2009 the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) held the 9th meeting of the Headquarters for Joint Investigation of Antimonopoly Violations in the CIS states, chaired by Anatoly Golomolzin, Deputy Head of FAS Russia, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

It got together representatives of the antimonopoly authorities of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Kyrgyzia Republic, and FAS Russia. Representatives of the Regional Communication Commonwealth also took part at the meeting.

Following the agenda, the participants discussed the issues of researching the markets of passenger air transportation, international telephone communication and grain, as well as some other questions.

The participants also discussed the legal framework of the CIS states regulating the legal relations in the above sectors. They considered the intermediary findings of the analysis of the air transportation markets on specific routes and the international telephone communication markets, as well as the methods for analyzing the grain market.

Summing up the discussion, the Headquarters determined the next steps that the antimonopoly authorities must undertake in the above sectors.

A decision was made on developing cooperation between the Headquarters and the Regional Communication Commonwealth as part of the research of telecommunication markets in the CIS states, organized by the Headquarters.

The parties reached an agreement to exchange on a regular basis the information on the organized venues, and reference and analytical materials on communications.
