OREANDA-NEWS. On April 20, 2009 The Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko declared half of the funds of the second tranche of the IMF loan can be directed to the State Budget of Ukraine. She disclosed during a media conference on the outcomes of her meeting with the Head of IMF mission in Ukraine Ceyla Pazarbasioglu. Also Yulia Tymoshenko doesn’t exclude this financial resource will be used by Ukraine to repay foreign loans.

Yulia Tymoshenko explained such aid to the budget is “a normal process supporting structure reforms”. According to her, a similar tranche was rendered to Hungary and Turkey.

From her part, Ceyla Pazarbasioglu confirmed direction of the part of IMF loan funds to the State Budget of Ukraine is carried out within the frames of the current programs already launched in other states.

According to her, funds of IMF can be directed either to payment balance or to clearing foreign loan of the state sector. “The IMF also gives funds for structure transformations so within this scope we consider recapitalization of the banking system of Ukraine as a crucial component,” the Head of IMF mission underlined.

Ceyla Pazarbasioglu also disclosed total sum of the next two tranches of the loan amounts USD 3.8 bn, which on agreement with Ukraine’s officials will be given in two equal parts.
