OREANDA-NEWS. April 29, 2009. The talks with the government delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan, who had arrived in the Turkmen capital led by Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation resulted in concluding a large contract. It was reported that during the meeting with the guests from Tatarstan the President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution authorizing the ministry of Motor Transport to conclude the contract for the purchase of 400 KamAZ vehicles and spare parts amounted to almost USD 22 million with the KAMAZ Company.

This document replenished the impressive list of the contracts concluded with the industrial giant from Naberezhnye Chelny in recent years. It should be noted that at the beginning of this year the partners agreed on the delivery of 1,040 vehicles Turkmenistan. Under this contract the KAMAZ Company has started to deliver the first large batches of trucks of different modification to the country. However, the large scale of the ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing Turkmenistan’s economic strength and importing the peoples’ welfare requires that the fleet be replenished with modern motor vehicles. Thus, the new contract with KAMAZ allows considerably increasing the industrial resources of the important construction and economic facilities in our country. On the other hand, the Russian partners’ machine building replenished the stock of orders through the trade and economic relations steadily developed with Turkmenistan.

This cooperation has every requisite and potential to develop further. Today Tatarstan – the largest region of the Russian Federation delivers modern, reliable helicopters produced by the Kazan helicopter plant along with high-powered KAMAZ trucks to our country. Turkmenistan concluded the preliminary agreements on cooperation with the motor works and shipyards in Tatarstan.

During the meeting the Tatar government delegation the Turkmen leader said that the reliable ties of friendship and dependable cooperation between Turkmenistan and Tatarstan were based on the historical, language, cultural and spiritual affinities of two peoples. That is reflected in full-scale cooperation developed in the humanitarian sphere, in particular the sphere of education, culture and science.

In the near future the sport sector that Turkmenistan attaches primary importance to will extend the scope of cooperation. Undoubtedly, it will motor racing for the off-road rally initiated by the Turkmen leader and awarded the status of the Dakar series, which will connect Kazan and Ashgabat this year.
