OREANDA-NEWS. September 14, 2009. The specialists of the Turkmenenergogurlushik Concern affiliated with the Ministry of Energy and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Siemens Company Germany) completed installing equipment at two 110/6 kV electric power substations – Gyami and Gundogar under construction in the southeast of the Turkmen capital. These facilities will be the first of five electric power substations to be built and put into operation in this part of Ashgabat by the end 2009. These stations will ensure reliable and uninterrupted electric power supply to the newly constructed buildings in this part of the city.

As is known, the President of Turkmenistan pays significant attention to the integrated development of urban infrastructure in Ashgabat that is to meet international standards. The project on construction of the engineering networks and power supply system along Archabil Avenue was launched in 2008 on the initiative of the Turkmen leader.

The well-known German Company Siemens is to build these facilities at the request of the Ashgabat Khyakimlik. The Turkmen power engineers are the subcontractors of the project. Collaboration of the specialists of the subdivisions of the Turkmenenergogurlusyk State Concern with the foreign partners in implementing the project testifies to the recognition of their high professionalism that is proved by the high quality and impressive pace of construction work.

According to the Turkmenenergogurlusyk State Concern the test and start-and-adjustment works will be carried on upon completing improvement works and installation of equipment at the Gyami and Gundogar electric power substations. The substations will ensure uninterrupted power supply to the potable water plant built by the Turkish Polimeks Company and to improve water supply to the city and the existing potable water pump stations.

Three electric power substations – Nar, Dagly and Gindivar are under construction on the western section of of Archabil Avenue. These substations will ensure uninterrupted power supply to the administrative buildings and high-rise apartment houses in the south the Turkmen capital.

Along with construction of the power substations the projects provide for laying of the overhead power transmission lines and procurement of energy equipment. The up-to-date equipment, for the most part manufactured by the Siemens Company, will be installed at all five power stations. The equipment and technologies offered by the German company has proved its effectiveness and perfect quality in compliance with the European standards.

All the electric power substations will be connected to the so-called power ring and included in the power grid of Ashgabat. It will increase the capacity of the power grid as well as provide the additional guarantees of reliable power supply to the rapidly developing Turkmen capital.
