OREANDA-NEWS. October 30, 2009. Belarus plans to receive another tranche of the IMF loan in December 2009, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus (NBRB) Piotr Prokopovich told media on 29 October.

According to him, as of 1 October, the National Bank fulfilled all the targets coordinated with the IMF. An expert group of the International Monetary Fund is to come to Minsk to assess these targets. “We expect to receive another tranche of the IMF loan in December,” Piotr Prokopovich said.

A reminder, in January Belarus received the first tranche of the IMF loan - around USD 800 million. The second tranche — around USD 680 million – came in July. On 26 October Belarus received another IMF credit tranche to the tune of USD 699.5 million. Thus, the total volume of the loan provided by the IMF now stands at USD 2.2 billion.

A reminder, on 29 June the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund took a decision to increase the financial support under the Stand-By Arrangement up to USD 3.63 billion.
