According to the organizers, during the event it is planned to organize technical seminar International Organization of Vine and Wine (MOVV / OIV), as well as the tasting contest "CHISINAU WINES & SPIRITS CONTEST'2010". During the workshop, the speeches were delivered by the OIV delegation representatives: the Director-General Federico Castellucci (Italy), honorary president Rainer Vittkovski (Germany), the head of economics, law and viticulture department Ignacio Sancho Rekarte (Spain) and the director of viticulture, oenologist Angelica Tsioli (Greece).

The OIV representatives together with the other members of the tasting committee participated in the assessment of samples submitted to the XIX International "CHISINAU WINES & SPIRITS CONTEST'2010". As the head of the OIV Federico Castellucci noted, this competition is an important event not only for the winemaking industry of Moldova but for all other states. This fact is confirmed by the presence of large delegation of OIV, the other tasters with a worldwide reputation, as well as the high number of foreign samples. Federico Castellucci said that his organization will continue to support "CHISINAU WINES & SPIRITS CONTEST" and possibly other events of the wine industry in Moldova.

The president of the Union of Oenologists of RM Gheorghe Arpentin stressed that since 1999, Chisinau contest was conducted in accordance with the methods recommended by the International Organization of Vine and Wine. Hosting such exposition has required considerable efforts, but today "CHISINAU WINES & SPIRITS CONTEST" will be held under the patronage of the most influential organizations in the world of wine.

He expressed gratitude to the honorary president of OIV Rainer Vittkovski and the head of National Patronage of Wine and Viticulture of Romania Valeriu Kotea for their work as the OIV observers and positive conclusion on the competition in the previous years, which have made it possible to hold "CHISINAU WINES & SPIRITS CONTEST" at such a high world level. This year 206 samples from 50 producers from 12 countries (25 domestic companies and 25-foreign) were presented. These are white and red wines, fortified and dessert wines, sparkling wines and spirits (vodka, liqueurs, brandies, divines, liqueurs, etc.).

The jury's decisions will be known on February 17; at the opening day of the XIX International Specialized exhibition of wine industry "ExpoVin Moldova'2010"when the winners of the tasting contest "CHISINAU WINES & SPIRITS CONTEST'2010" will be declared.
