OREANDA-NEWS. February 25, 2010. The Belarusian oil refineries should start making profit in Q1 2010, First Vice-Premier of Belarus Vladimir Semashko said at a session of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee on 25 February.

The First Deputy Prime Minister said that at the beginning of the year the Belarusian oil refineries faced some problems related to the change of delivery terms of Russian oil. According to a preliminary estimation, the oil refineries might lose up to USD 11 million in January-February. However, the measures adopted by the government and the heads of the refineries helped adapt to the work in the new conditions, though certain problems remain unresolved, Vladimir Semashko said.

A reminder, with a view to stabilizing the situation at the Belarusian oil refineries, the government decided to develop a mechanism to compensate for the customs duty paid to the national budget in January.
