OREANDA-NEWS. March 05, 2010. About 130 contracts worth a total of over UZS 3.2 billion were signed at the Third National Innovative Ideas, Technologies and Projects Fair held at UzExpoCenter.

The forum was organized in the framework of implementation of the tasks set by President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov to speed up modernization and re-equipment of production and increase production of competitive products.

Ministries, departments, associations, banks, state and private companies from various sectors, scientific and educational establishments, scientific and technological centers, as well as individual inventors participated in the fair.

Over 600 prospective innovative projects and samples of highly technological equipment for industry and agriculture, healthcare and pharmaceutical sector, information technologies, science and education were presented at the forum.

The fair participants had the opportunity to discuss expansion of collaboration between science and industry at the practical seminars on intellectual property management, technology transfer and other topics.

On the last day of the fair, a round table on Innovative Development of Uzbekistan: Problems and Perspectives developed recommendations on development of innovative economy in the country.

The fair competed with the awarding ceremony of the winners of the best projects contest, which was held in 14 nominations, covering all sectors and areas presented at the forum.

Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov participated in the closing and wawarding ceremonies of the third innovations fair.
