OREANDA-NEWS. March 23, 2010. This was announced during the meeting of the Prime Minister Vladimir Filat with the chairman of the board of heads of the companies "France - the countries of Central and Eastern Europe" MEDEF International (the Movement of Entrepreneurs of France), the Special Adviser and member of the Executive Committee of the Bank "CALYON Credit Agricole CIB" Pierre Moraillon.

He noted that France is the third country in the world in terms of investments, and French businessmen were among the first to invest in Moldova. Pierre Moraillon stressed that, despite the global crisis, due to efforts of the Government and signing of the Agreement with the International Monetary Fund, Moldova will be able to develop and implement new projects. According to him, French businessmen closely follow the evolution of relations between Moldova and European institutions. In his turn, during the meeting with the French businessmen the Prime Minister Vladimir Filat welcomed the fact that some of them are already working in Moldova, noting that the visit of French businessmen is a positive sign for our country. According to him, presence of French investments at the Moldovan market is very important for the authorities.

Vladimir Filat expressed hope that thanks to arrival to our country French businessmen will invest more in Moldova. The priority areas for investment are infrastructure, agriculture, energy and banking sector. The Premier said that the Moldovan government began the process of stabilization and economic recovery, which should create a favorable climate for investors. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France, honorary chairman of Business Club “France-Moldova " Pierre Andrieu.
