OREANDA-NEWS. April 05, 2010. Retail sugar prices have been increased 10% in Belarus – to 2,590 Belarusian rubles (Br) per kilo for bulk sugar and 2,840 rubles per kilo of packed sugar, under resolution № 56 of the Economy Ministry.

The move is attributed to the necessity to equalize sugar prices with neighboring countries and support domestic sugar refineries, which have reported deterioration in their financial position.

Sugar prices rose 10% on January 28 and 5% February 27.
