OREANDA-NEWS. April 13, 2010. The International Exhibition has opened in the framework of I International Gas Congress in Ashgabat today. Thus, for the next few days our country becomes the centre of attraction of the world oil and gas business community. The Turkmengaz State Concern, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Summit Trade Events Ltd. Company are the organizers of the large forum that will allow expanding mutually beneficial international partnership. Participants of these events represent over 150 international organisations and companies from 32 countries around the world.

Conducting the International Congress for the first time in our country and the specialized exhibition is another evidence of the increasing prestige of Turkmenistan on the world energy map due to abundant hydrocarbon resources and the balanced energy policy pursued by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to use the profound potential of the mineral wealth in Turkmenistan in the interests of the whole mankind.

The exhibition will be a new opportunity for foreign guests to learn about the impressive achievements of the Turkmen fuel and gas sector, present technologies, equipment and services as well as identify the ways of cooperation with Turkmen partners in this priority sector of the economy.

80 foreign companies, firms and fuel and energy departments are represented at the exhibition. The expositions of Turkmen enterprises present the activities and products of the state concerns Turkmengas, Turkmenneft, Turkmenneftegazstroy and Turkmenhimiya, the Turkmengeologiya State Corporation and others.

The foreign participants are represented by 50 companies from 28 countries around the world including the United States, Russia, China, Iran, France, Germany, Malaysia, Turkey and South Korea. Among them are the traditional partners who have been closely collaborating with Turkmenistan for many years as well as the new companies willing to establish cooperation with the fuel and energy enterprises of our country.

I International Gas Congress will bring together over 400 delegates from 32 countries including the EU member states, the CIS countries, the United States, Canada, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, the UAE, Turkey and Uzbekistan in the Turkmen capital tomorrow.

The high level of the forum is proved by the participation of the European Commission, the International Energy Agency, the energy ministries and departments of Russia, the United States, Turkey, Bulgaria, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Georgia. The specialists of such world-renowned companies as Chevron and Exxon Mobil (USA), Shell (Holland-Great Britain), OMV (Austria), RWE (Germany), BP (Great Britain), LUKOIL and Gazprom (Russia) and many others will make reports during the Gas Congress.

The International Gas Congress is expected to foster the detailed dialogue about the existing potential and opportunities of mutually beneficial cooperation on exploration and development of gas deposits and natural gas production, processing and transportation. The heads of the Turkmen fuel and energy departments will make presentations on the major aspects of the modern energy strategy of the Turkmen state and the overview of the ongoing and future gas projects.

In their turn, the representatives of the foreign companies will share their positive experience in operation on the Turkmen energy market, made presentation on application of advanced technologies in industry and put forward the proposals for new projects that will certainly contribute to enhancing and expanding international gas partnership of Turkmenistan.
