OREANDA-NEWS. April 22, 2010. The Belarusian Forestry Ministry plans to increase exports almost 50% to USD 100 million, Forestry Minister Mikhail Amelyanovich told a news conference.

“The ministry will continue modernization of productions in 2010, and we hope exports will amount to USD 100 million this year,” he said.

In the first quarter, exports doubled to USD 24 million year-on-year. “The crisis is not over, the Belarusian Commodity Exchange still reports shortages of bidders for our products, but exports have increased, mostly of pulpwood and sawn timber, and so have prices,” he said.
