OREANDA-NEWS. January 4, 2011. Belarus’ OJSC Olivaria, a brewery based in the city of Minsk, produced 6.602 million decaliters of beer in January-November 2010, an increase of 11.7% on the year, a representative in Belgospischeprom concern told.

In November 2010, beer output rose 16.7% on the year to 595,000 decaliters.

Beer offering in plastic bottles rose 13.7% to 4.636 million decaliters in January-November, in glass bottles rose 0.7% to 1.5 million decaliters, and in kegs rose 15.3% to 399,000 decaliters. Beer offering in cans reached 67,000 decaliters.

The brewery accounted for 18% of Belarus’ beer production in January-November 2010, down 1 percentage point year-on-year.

In January-November 2010, the company exported 96,000 decaliters of beer, up 7.3 times on the year.

Olivaria was founded in 1864 and transformed into a joint stock company in 1994. In December 2006, Sweden’s BBH acquired a 30% stake in Olivaria by purchasing an additional issue of shares for USD 18.5 million.

Carlsberg A/S acquired a stake in Olivaria through a purchase of a BBH shareholding from Scottish&Newcastle in May 2008.
