OREANDA-NEWS. February 04, 2011. The number of new motor cars transshipped via Yug-2 MTC in the Russian Ust-Luga port increased 3.8 times in 2010 against the previous year and reached the level of 65,521 units. The number of motor cars transshipped in 2009 was 17,000.

The transshipment volume growth in 2010 was related to many factors. Toyota and Hyundai increased their deliveries and KIA and Subaru started transshipping their motor cars via Yug-2 in 2010.

Motor car transshipment via Yug-2 MTC now allows operational customs clearance. In 2010 it became possible to ship motor cars by railway, which also ensured cargo turnover growth.

Ust-Luga port is the most western port of the Russian Federation situated 36 km from the EU border. Yug-2 MTC is a subsidiary of Ust-Luga Company JSC.
