OREANDA-NEWS. March 1, 2011. Belarus’ farm output increased 6.1% on the year in January 2011 to 1.539 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), a source in the National Statistics Committee told.

Sales of fattened cattle and poultry rose 6.2% on the year in January to 129,900 tonnes, milk output rose 4.4% to 464,400 tonnes, and egg output went up 7.9% to 288.5 million units.

Return on sales of Belarus’ agribusiness reached 5.3% in 2010, up from minus 0.2% in 2009, and sales margin reached 4.2%, up from minus 0.2%

Net profit of agricultural companies amounted to 1.871 trillion rubles in January-December 2010, up 54.8% on the year.

In January-December 2010, farms’ net loss reached 39.7 billion rubles, down 11.6% year-on-year.

Overdue payables of Belarus’ agriculture were at 2.233 trillion rubles as of January 1, 2011, 18.3% of all payables.
